Welcome to the West Coast Commercial Cleaning Blog

April 24th, 2010

Hello and welcome to the first installment of the West Coast Commercial Cleaning blog.  As I wonder what to blog about?  It came to me that most people want to read something that is helpful to their specific needs and not going to take 20 minutes to get through.  So my promise to my followers is that each blog entry will be to the point and of useful nature (hopefully).

This morning I was faced with a stain on a carpet we had deep cleaned a month ago, the stain is from coffee that had seeped into the carpet and dried during the course of a full work day.  So what I did was mixed one (1) cup of white vinegar and two (2) cups of water, side note, white vinegar is a 5% acetic acid solution so it helps break down the molecular structure of what every is stained without a bleaching effect. Here’s how I got the stain out: I applied a small amount of the solution to a white cloth, and work in gently – do not rub — working from the edges of the spill to the center.

Be patient and allowing yourselfto spend some time working on the stain, remember to blot not rub.  I continue to use my mixed solution because I could see that the stain was coming out, as I looked at the cloth there was transfer of the stain to the cloth.

Remember to be patient, complete removal may require repeating several times. When the spill was completely removed, I rinse the area with cold water; blot with a dry cloth until all moisture is removed.

In my next post, I will let you know if it came completely out or if I had to go back and repeat process.
